O, Principles, Where Art Thou?

Taken from an email from my company to 20,000+ employees:

“Also, we are in the process of examining the details of President Biden’s recent six-part COVID vaccination mandate. We will be updating protocols and expectations, in line with regulatory requirements, and we will communicate them to you as they are developed and implemented.”

Sometimes you have to take a stand. Have the courage to say, “I believe in…” And stand by your principles. That’s the true lesson here. I’ll pay any price to stay true to character. Because that’s one of the few things in life that’s really worth it.

I may be looking for a new job. Anyone want to hire a marketing nerd? (Nerd is code for genius.)

  1. I agree. Its a slippery slope when theres a “passing of the buck” mentality.
It would be interesting to see how organizations are making decisions regarding these “mandates”. Are they aligned with the organization’s vision, mission and objectives?

    1. I have to be honest, I can’t think of a single mission statement that bridges an organization’s reason for existence with them requiring their employees receive the COVID vaccination or lose their job. Is it the company’s mission to keep their employees healthy and alive? If so, replace the junk food in the vending machines with nicotine patches. Model flexibility into employees’ schedules. Build a meditation room. If you take out the ping pong table I bet there is plenty of room. Support mental health. Create a culture that values individual team members. I can go on… (And I’d like to work for that company.)

      I am not anti-vaccination. I am anti forced-vaccination. *That’s* a slippery slope.
